Ratchet control for hand brake valve - has elastic sleeve over lever for axial sprung support

The ratchet control is for a handbrake lever valve. It has the lever (6) inside an elastic sleeve (9) and the upper part of the sleeve has elastic fingers (13) operated by a conical section of the lever (14). The sleeve is pulled up by gripping with two fingers under the control knob and lifting two tags on the top of the sleeve. The sleeve locates the lever in the brake position by dropping the bottom part of the sleeve into a prepared groove. To lift the lever from the locking position the two top tabs are pulled up to lift the sleeve. The ratchet is a single plastic moulding and requires no separate spring. It does not corrode and does not require lubrication and is easily replaced whendamaged.
