<p>The clamp comprises a top flat spring (1) fixed into U-shaped end yokes (2,2') which have retaining hook bases (5) on them to grip cross struts (6) on the cable grid or equipment to which the cable is fixed. In the centre of the top flat spring (1) is an adjusting screw (4) which bears down on a cable clamp bar (3) which is free to move up or down between the end yokes (2). The clamp (3) is shaped in the centre (9) and angled downwards so that its centre is both lower than the sides and has the curved profile of the cable for a close fit. This permits an electrical connection with the cable screen (8) without fouling the cable sheath on either side of the sheath cut out. The ends (10) of the clamp bar (3) are lipped upwards at the ends where they move in the yokes (2,2') to provide stability. The flat top spring (1) is 2 to 4 times longer than its width and is designed to remain tight if the clamp is subjected to vibration.</p> |
