Mould for moulding abrasive articles from powder comprises a base having sloped longitudinal edges adapted to receive corresp. sloped lower edges of longitudinal side walls. The ends of the base engage end sidewalls and a plate is supported above the base between the walls. The lower edges of the walls are supported upon resilient springs and a bar is movable to a position below the plate. A plunger is movable through the mould cavity defined by the base and side walls under the action of a pressure member supported by a lid. To use the mould, it is filled, closed and located between the platens of a heated press. After moulding and release of the pressure the sidewalls are biased by the springs away from the base and the bar is pushed under the plate to raise the plate and the moulded article relative to the sidewalls, thereby freeing the article from the sidewalls ready for removal. The mould is easily assembled and dismantled and the article is easily removable from the open mould.
