<p>A stationary exhaust channel (2) has a carriage (23) and hose which engages the channel through a slot (6) and opens and closes associated seals (7,8). The seals are interconnected heat proof circular discs, adjustably linked lengthwise and designed to grasp round the adjoining endface of the disc alongside. Each disc has a roller working off a slotted link on the carriage, which has a rail to drive the rollers. The discs at the start and end of the channel have guides to keep them in. The channel slot is in one of the vertical sidewalls and the carriage has a sucker which reaches into the channel to move the discs via anti-rubbing components.. The unit is for workshops or testing bays for vehicle exhaust removal. The discs provide reliable maintained channel sealing and are proof against hot gas. The system remains adjustable and flexible due to the guides and assured carriage movement. The discs remain guided throughout using the slotted link and rail for accurate movement within the channel to keep the slot sealed, apart from the sucker and hose entry point.</p> |
