The connector is particularly intended for application to electric locomotives. The connector is formed as a plug, shaped as an intermediate clamping box. It has two identical, pot-shaped halves, which overlap in a tubular plug region in a manner mutually secured against rotation. The overlapping connection provides closing of contacts, secured in a contact support. One connector half is suitable for stationary mounting. The coupling of the other half is carried out by a central anchor bolt with a threaded extension. This bolt passes through the bottom of the moving half and can be screwed into the bottom of the stationary half until proper contacting has been reached. Preferably the stationary half may be mounted on a testing bench, or a vehicle, while the moving half is connected to the cable of the machine or a suitable appts.
