<p>The device is used for insulating noise from a machine and has intermediate supports (2) of resilient material which can be used to secure two insulating sheets (5,6) together. Each support has a series of cylindrical members (3) projecting from one side, each with a hole (4) through the middle. When the support has been mounted between the two sheets, with the cylinders passing through clearance holes (7) in the lower sheet, securing screws (9) are inserted through clearance holes (8) in the upper sheet. The screws, which are of plastics, expand the cylinders, locking them in the lower clearance holes. A single sheet on top can be secured to a base plate, in which case, the cylinders fit into blind holes, and the screws lock them there. For an additional gripping action, the holes can be tapped.</p> |
