Gear train backlash take=up equipment - has discs coupled by spring and sliding radially when turned

The equipment takes up any backlash between two intermeshing gears in a gear train which is self-locking under the effect of torque on the output side. A first disc slides radially on a spindle concentric to one of the gears, and is so coupled to a second disc that this sliding movement takes place when they are turned in relation to each other. A driving mechanism is coupled via the spindle to a gear so as to turn it in relation to the other gear when rotated in either direction. When the gears start to seize, one of the discs slides so as to increase the backlash between them slightly. A spring coupled between the discs turns them in relation to each other so as to increase the relative radial sliding movement, thus taking up the backlash between the gears coupled to them.
