PURPOSE:To improve ion collection efficiency and stabilize detection capacity by constituting the captioned detector with a cylindrical ion collection electrode housing a filament which ionizes sodium, a power supply part, a signal detection part, etc. CONSTITUTION:A detection container 1 of a sodium ionization detector under this invention contains a filament which ionizes sodium and sodium compounds. At the same time, the said container is composed of a metal which concurrently serves as an ionization collection electrode 3 only around the filament 5 and a transparent material 21 such as glass, etc. which is bonded to the collection electrode 3 in a freely attachable/detachable fashion above and below the filament. A sample gas is introduced from a sampling tube 9 by actuating a pump 10 and is caused to touch the filament 5 heated at high temperature to ionize sodium in the gas. Then sodium ion is collected by the collection electrode 3 and is detected by a signal detector 4. When the interior of the detection container 1 is contaminated, it shall be disassembled starting with the bonded part 2 and cleaned. |
