摘要 <p>System for supplying H2 includes a metal hydride H2 storage and supply component (II) operating in tandem. (I) includes a tank filled with metal hydride which releases H2 when heated but absorbs H2 when cooled and contains a heat exchanger for controlling the absorption/desorption of H2. (II) includes a tank in which H2 is held under high pressure within individual microcavities. The H2 is released from the microcavities by heating from a heating element within the tank. H2 is supplied from both (I) and (II) and from (II) to (I) as required by means of regulating valves. Used as supply of H2 to e.g. an H2-propelled vehicle. System is not as costly as an exclusively metal hydride H2 system and does not contain large amts. of liq. or gaseous H2; it will deliver H2 at > atmos. pressure whilst requiring equilibrium storage pressure is not >50-60 atmos. Microcavity gas storage has a good safety factor.</p>
