The e.g. toy brick has a fixing for securing it to other similarly equipped bricks. The fixings engage together if necessary under slight pressure and penetrate into each other, being separated by pulling apart. The fixings are contained in a layer (10) joined to the body (4) and can be identical or alternatively complementary, one being of textile and the other having loops, small hooks or mushroom-shaped protrusions close together on it. The layer can be permanently secured to the body.
