<p>PURPOSE:To purify the titled compound using single low-boiling distillation column, by feeding crude 1,2-dichloroethane obtained by the oxychlorination of ethylene at a stage higher than the feeding stage of curde 1,2-dichloroethane obtained by the direct chlorination of ethylene. CONSTITUTION:In the 1,2-dichloroethane purification process comprising distillation of crude 1,2-dichloroethane obtained by the oxychlorination of ethylene (oxy- EDC) together with crude 1,2-dichloroethane obtained by the direct chlorination of ethylene (direct EDC) and/or undecomposed EDC obtained as a residue of EDC thermal decomposition process, the oxy-EDC or an EDC mixture composed mainly of oxy-EDC is fed to a low-boiling distillation column at the state 1 higher than the stage 2 for feeding the direct EDC and/or undecomposed EDC or an EDC mixture composed mainly thereof. The purified EDC is recovered in the bottom liquid. EFFECT:The steam consumption can be reduced to 1/3.</p> |
