PURPOSE:To increase the ratio of encoding on the whole, by employing multistage decoding which utilizes symbols having been decoded. CONSTITUTION:Decoders 8a, 8b...8c at the 1st stage decode codes of the 1st stage increasing successively in encoding ratio according to columns. Decoder 14 at the 2nd stage decodes codes having been decreased in the encoding ratio of received symbols, by utilizing that (j) information symbols are known in the (j)-th step. |
