PURPOSE:To uniformize the available area of the panel of a color picture tube, by exposing the panel with the length of a linear light source both on the central portion and on the peripheral portion of the panel which vary depending upon the sort of case, whether the case of a photo resist exposure for a black matrix or the case of exposing slurry for a phosphor material. CONSTITUTION:Aperture blocks 21, 22 are attached on a linear light source 23 consisting of a mercury-arc lamp. On the aperture block 21 for a photo resist exposure, an opening 21a is formed in such a way as to be narrow in the linear light source 23 area and expand according to the distance from the linear light source 23. On the aperture block 22 for exposing slurry for a phosphor material, an opening 22a is formed in such a way as to be wide in the linear light source 23 area, and become thin according to the distance from the linear light source 23. After setting the aperture blocks on an exposing body 24, the exposure is carried in. Thereby, the deformation on the available area of a black matrix may be corrected while the available area of the phosphor material is equalized to that of the black matrix, and a uniform picture can be obtained. |
