PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing for a light source for stably cooling an upper part of an inner valve in a light source lamp even at any posture of an installation direction without complicating a device.SOLUTION: In a housing 60 for a light source to which a light source lamp 30 having a luminous tube 32 and a reflector 31 is attached, it comprises: an intake port 61 which introduces cooling air; a pair of flow channels 62a, 62b through which the cooling air can circulate from the intake port to the luminous tube, and which branch from the intake port to two directions facing each other in a circumferential direction of the luminous tube; a branch plate 50 which is provided at a branching position; and a rotation fulcrum shaft 55 which is coupled to the branch plate to make the branch plate pivotable. The housing for the light source has: a flow channel opening/closing mechanism 56 for opening one and closing the other of the pair of flow channels; and an exhaust port 64 for exhausting the cooling air introduced from the one opened flow channel into the reflector to the outside of the reflector. The housing for the light source can be arranged by rotating centering on an optical axis of the light source lamp, and the rotation fulcrum shaft of the branch plate inclines to the light axis of the light source lamp.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
