<p>Carboxylic acids containing omega , ( omega - 1)-dihydroxy carboxylic acid as a chief ingredient are produced by a method wherein omega , ( omega -1)-dihydroxy carboxylic acid-producing microorganism which belongs to Candida genus is cultured with alpha-olefins having 12 to 18 carbon atoms in a medium, or cells of said microorganism which has been grown in advance is allowed to react on alpha- olefins having 12 to 18 carbon atoms as substrate thereby forming carboxylic acids having omega , ( omega -1)-dihydroxy carboxylic acid as a chief ingredient and recovering the carboxylic acids from the broth.</p> |
