PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance, heat resistance and chemical resistance of a magnetic recording medium, by providing a protective layer consisting of acrylic acid ester resin having a silicon functional group, on the surface of a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:Acrylic acid ester resin having a silicon functional group shown by the expression (R is -OH, -H, -CH=CH2, -CH3) is used. That is to say, a protective layer 3 is formed by applying a paint which is obtained by melting said resin in an organic solvent, on a magnetic layer 2 provided on the supporting body 1 such as a polyester film base, and drying it. |
