PURPOSE:To enhance the chemical resistance, particularly the resistance against a fluorine containing refrigerant of an insulating layer of an electric motor, by a method wherein coils of the motor are treated for insulation with a solventless varnish consisting of bismaleimide, triazine resin, epoxy resin and a reactive diluent. CONSTITUTION:The coil is treated for insulation with a solventless varnish obtained by mixing bismaleimide, triazine resin having a cyanate group at the molecular chain terminal, epoxy resin and a reactive diluent having a glycidyl group. Preferably, the amount of a two-component mixture of bismaleimide and triazine resin is 10-90wt% of a three-component mixture containing the epoxy resin, and that of the reactive solvent is 5-100pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. three-component mixture. When the thus treated motor is operated for 30 days a cording to a repetitional schedule using, for example, Freon R-22 as refrigerant, the deterioration of insulated parts can be prevented as shown in the table. |
