<p>A machine and method are provided for laying more than one layer of cementitious pavement simultaneously on a base surface. The machine has a movable frame and a first receiving structure for receiving a first cementitious composition in a plastic condition. A first strike-off mechanism is provided for shaping a first cementitious composition in the first receiving structure by forming grooves in the top surface thereof. Second receiving structure is attached to the frame behind the first receiving structure for receiving and depositing a second cementitious composition in a plastic condition on top of the first composition. A second strike-off mechanism is then provided for leveling off the top of the second cementitious composition to form a two layer pavement of a desired thickness. By the use of this apparatus according to the method provided, the two cementitious compositions form interlocking layers which dry together. The layers of the concrete pavement are positively connected together to prevent relative movement between the layers.</p> |
