PURPOSE:To improve transfer efficiency and cleaning effect by forming transfer rollers into the form of brush rolls by flocking conductive hairy surface materials on the conductive adhesive layers provided on the outside circumference of core bodies of an elastic material. CONSTITUTION:Fur brush rollers 18, 19 for transferring and cleaning are provided to a transfer device 6. The roller 18 is made by providing a conductive adhesive layer 27 on the outside circumference of a core body 24 of highly resilient and conductive foamed polyurethane or the like, flocking hairy surface materials 28 by electrostatic flocking thereon and setting electric resistance at 10<8>-10<9>OMEGA.cm. The roller 19 is of the similar construction in which a brush body 39 is wound spirally. With such constitution, the surface area is increased by the resilience of the hairly materials 28 and good transfer efficiency is obtained. The toner 42 in the nontransfer part is effectively removed by the contact rotation of the tips of the hairy materials 28, 41. Thereby, transfer efficiency and cleaning effect are improved. |
