Process for the treatment of waste water of photographic developer without coagulator is described. Thus, pH 1.5 and COD 21,000 ppm waste water was sent to a distilling apparatus (2) with a water separator(26) and a heat exchanger(2a) and heated to 100-5oC. Steam and bed-smelling gas from the lower part of the distilling column were passed through 1st water separator(2b), 2nd separator(3) and condenser(4) to give pH 7-7.5 and COD 80 mg/l clean water.
