PURPOSE:To enable a laser output to be obtained instantaneously by arranging an insulated cable and the cathode wall of a laser tube so as to closely contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:The positive pole of a laser power source 1 is connected through a resistor 6 and an insulated cable 7 to the anode 3 of a laser tube 2, and the negative pole to the cathode 4 of the laser tube 2, the insulated cable 7 being arranged so as to closely contact with the cathode wall 9. When the laser power source 1 is turned on in the dark, a trigger voltage is applied through the resistor 6 and the insulated cable 7 to the anode 3 of the laser tube 2. When the trigger voltage is applied through the electrostatic capacity between the core of the insulated cable 7 and the cathode space 8, the rare gas in the cathode space 8 is instantaneously ionized, and the core of the insulated cable 7 and the cathode space 8 repeat AC glow discharge. Thereby, discharge is started between the anode 3 and the cathode 4 of the laser tube 2. |
