PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the human body from being exposed to radioactivity even when working a stock to which a radioactive substance has been attached, by covering the working part of an electric discharge machining apparatus with a cover provided with a lead plate. CONSTITUTION:After a workpiece 2 to which a radioactive substance has been attached or which has been radioactivated has been set in an electric discharge machining apparatus 1, an exposure proof cover 3 formed by attaching lead plate of thickness 10-20mm. inside a working fluid scatter preventing cover is mounted on a table 5 of the electric discharge machining apparatus 1 through an eyebolt 4 by using a crane. By performing working with such an electric discharge machining apparatus, a stock contaminated by radioactivity can be safely worked even in a limited narrow place in a nuclear power plant. |
