<p>PURPOSE:To obtain ethylbenzene advantageously in two stages, by separating diethylbenzene and triethylbenzene from the transalkylation product, and recycling the latter into an alkylation zone and the former into a transalkylation zone. CONSTITUTION:Bezene, ethylene and a Friedel-Crafts type catalyst are fed with recycling triethylbenzene into an alkylation zone and reacted, and the reaction product is further fed with recycling diethylbenzene into a transalkylation zone continuously for the reaction. Benzene, ethylbenzene, diethylbenzene and triethylbenzene are separated from the reaction product. The triethylbenzene alone or together with benzene is recycled through said alkylation zone, and the diethylbenzene is recycled through the transalkylation zone mentioned above, to prevent the inefficiency of the transalkylation zone caused by the temperature drop and give ethylbenzene advantageously.</p> |
