PURPOSE:To increase electric variation which occurs according to oxygen concentration by providing at least two groups of detecting elements which output electric signals corresponding to a difference in oxygen concentration, and by connecting electrodes of respective detecting elements in series or in parallel. CONSTITUTION:Detecting element 1 made of zirconia or other substances in a pipe shape has a couple of electrodes 2a and 3a of platinum catalyst, etc., on its internal and external circumferential surfaces at left and right half parts 1a of relatively small and relatively large diameters connected in a body by being fitted in at end parts, and pipelike terminals 6 and 7 of copper, etc., are fitted in the other end parts of the left and right half parts. Terminals 6 and 7 are led out by being connected to conductors 4 and 5. Thus, the electrode of one side half part constituting element body 1 is connected in series to that of the other side half part, so that the electric signal that corresponds to the concentration of oxygen in gas passing through the element body is increased relatively. |
