PURPOSE:To decrease inspecting manpower by fitting ultrasonic vibrators to one shoe, and by arranging other ultrasonic vibrators at both sides of the ultrasonic vibrators which emit ultrasonic wave beams perpendicular to the contact surface. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic probe 20 is equipped with vertical vibrator 1 which emits an ultrasonic wave beam perpendicular to the contact surface in the center of the back surface of the mountain shape of shoe 21, and 45 deg. vibrators 3 and 3A and 60 deg. vibrators 5 and 5A symmetrically on vibrator 1. Because of the arrangement of the vibrators like this, ultrasonic wave beams are emitted from the right and left, so that when inspection is done in four flaw detection directions which are two directions in parallel to the weld line of a weld zone of a body to be tested and the other two directions perpendicular to the weld line, the inspection will be completed by taking a scan twice because the scan is done in two directions simultaneously. In the flaw detection of the weld zone of a nuclear power plate, the number of inspecting processes is decreased, so that the chance of exposing the operators to dangerous radiation is lessened. |
