PURPOSE:To improve S/N without deteriorating a picture, by utilizing a line correlator, reducing a noise in case there is a correlator in a high-pass component of a picture signal, and also removing a picture signal of the part where there is no correlator in the high-pass component. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal is input to the input terminal 1, a picture signal of the existing line is subtracted from the output (a picture signal of 1 line before) of the 1H (1 horizontal scanning period) delay circuit 3 in the first compounding means consisting of an inverter 5 and an adder circuit 6, and a low-pass component is removed in the high-pass filter 7. The gate circuit 12 is controlled by a correlation detection means for detecting whether there is a line correlator consisting of a switching circuit 9 and a waveform shaping circuit 10 or not, and only when there is correlation of a high-pass component in the existing line and the line of 1H before, an output signal of the high-pass filter 7 is provided to the adder circuit 4 which is the second compounding means, and the output terminal 2 obtains a picture signal whose noise has been reduced. |
