PURPOSE:To improve output efficiency, by applying combustive explosion energy perpendicularly to a rotor in reference to the direction of rotation of the rotor. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 6, provided with an internal gear 8 engaged with a stationary gear 9 on a shaft 4 and also with two vertexes, is rotated in a rotor housing 1. Combustion chambers 10, which communicate with openings in the peripheral surface of the rotor, are provided in the rotor 6 near its vertexes. Piezoelectric spark plugs 11, which are energized by the projection on the shaft 4, are placed in the combustion chambers 10. When the engine is running, intake, compression, explosion and exhaust strokes are effected with the change in the volume of a working chamber which is caused by the rotation of the rotor 6. Since the engine encloses the combustion chambers 10 in the above-mentioned positions, the explosion energy in the chambers 10 is applied perpendicularly to the rotor 6 to enable the output to improve its efficiency. |
