The handle consists of a strap (1) made from flexible material which surrounds the jar. The strap is fitted with two end lugs (3). Each lug has a serrated edge (5) and is tapered radially towards the outside. The strap is kept in position by a handle (8) which is tightened over the cone formed. The handle has a hand grip which is integral with two lugs (11) having internal serrated edges (14). The lugs are covered by the sleeve (17) which is curved to the radius (18) of the jar.
