The booth or cabin is made of an aluminium alloy with chemical compsn. 3-5% Cu, 1-2% Mn, 3-5% Mg, 4-6.5% Zn, and, all maxima, 0.65% Si, 0.8% Fe, 0.5% Cr, 0.35% Ti+Zr, remainder Al. The reflecting power of this alloy provides better illumination inside the booth, and minimises heat losses from the booth. Used esp. for painting motor vehicle bodies or similar objects. Fuel savings of up to 30% can be achieved, and the booth is easier to clean. The reflection and diffusion of light by the alloy provides uniform illumination of the entire motor vehicle body. The Al alloy also reflects and diffuses heat towards the middle of the booth, so heat lossess are reduced and heating energy is saved, obviating the necessity for thermal insulation. The alloy creates a magnetic screen so the booth walls do not attract dirt; and solvents in the paint are easily removed.
