The storage hopper has a driven discharge conveyor underneath the outlet for the outflowing material. A stirring member (7) is accommodated inside the hopper (1) and driven by the conveyor (6), which can be an auger engaging directly with the member, causing the latter to turn about an axis intersecting that of the hopper. The wheel-like member can comprise two parallel rings, joined by bars between them engaged by the auger in the manner of a worm drive. Spokes on each ring can join it to a bearing bush working on a shaft fixed in the hopper.
