1397326 Flint-ignited lighters ETABS GENOUD & CIE 21 Dec 1972 [5 Jan 1972] 59222/72 Heading F4F A cigarette lighter mechanism comprises a depressable control key 7 pivoted at 6 on a body 1 and carrying a key-return spring 9 wound on a pin 8 on the key 7, one arm 9a of spring 9 acting on an arm 11a rigid with a pawl 11 pivoted at 10 on key 7, pawl 11 driving a ratchet 5 of a flint wheel 3 and being returned to an inoperative position by spring 9, and another arm 9b of the spring acting directly on one end of a flint 4 to urge the flint against wheel 3. In a gas-fuelled lighter the key 7 also operates a lever 12 pivoted at 13 to open a gas valve 2. |
