Disclosed is a control point device capable of displaying document contents. The control point device includes a display unit, a media reproducer identifying unit, a state change information receiving unit, and a document viewing controlling unit. The display unit displays the document contents. The media reproducer identifying unit reproduces the document contents if a request for the display of the document contents is received to identify a media reproducer which is able to perform a display function. The state change information receiving unit receives the information on state change corresponding to an operation performed by the media reproducer according to an operation command. The document viewing controlling unit creates an operation command of reproducing and displaying the document contents according to the request for the display of the document contents, transmits the created operation command, meta information of the document contents provided from the media server, and display information of the display unit to the identified media reproducer, and displays a thumb nail image corresponding to the document contents received from the media reproducer and the state change information through the display unit. The thumb nail image can be created by the media reproducer based on the display information of the display unit and the document contents.
