The holder secures a urine bottle to a hospital bed with a frame of conventional hollow profile construction and in a position conveniently ready for the patient. It has a bracket removably secured to a bed frame longitudinal member. The holder (43) secured to the bed (12) has a quadrilateral linkage (26) slewing on a vertical axis (27). A supporting arm for the bracket (47) swings up and down at the free end. This is secured to the outer link (29) of the parallelogram linkage, which couples together the top and bottom arms (31,32) of the latter. Thus the bracket can be slewed and swung up from a position near the floor and under the head end of the bed frame into one level with the frame and roughly half-way along it.
