<p>Method of producing sanitary ware, esp. wash tables, basins, bidets, etc. from plastics, esp. polymethacrylate consists of moulding the plastics surface from a ceramic surface. Preferably, the sanitary component is deep-drawn from a plastics panel or sheet, this panel or sheet has been produced by casting a setting resin and allowing it to harden between two ceramic surfaces or against one ceramic surface or surface modelled from a ceramic surface. Alternatively, the sanitary component is cast in a mould which itself has been cast from a ceramic sanitary ware component. Pref. the plates or sheets constituting the intermediate product or the sanitary components are cast from a reacting resin, esp. methacrylic acid ester, which contains small beads of plastics, more specifically polymethacrylate. These beads may be of different colour from the reacting resin. The plastics surface has a finish which is equivalent to and resembles that of a ceramic.</p> |
