Polytriazine compounds of the formula I below: <IMAGE> in which the substituents are defined in Claim 1, are obtained by reacting a compound of the formula IV: HX-R1-YH (IV> in which X, Y and R1 are as defined in Claim 1, with a) a 2,4-dihalotriazine and b) cyanuric halide, dissolved in an inert solvent at a temperature of from -10 DEG C to the boiling point of the solvent, in the presence of an organic or inorganic base. The compounds obtainable according to the invention can be used as stabilisers for stabilising polymers, together with the formulating agents and/or diluents.
