In classical solo guitar playing the right arm is limited in its freedom of movement by the tasks assigned to it of on the one hand holding the guitar in its position on the thighs of the player and on the other of absorbing reaction forces which come from the gripping fingers when playing with the left hand without counterpressure from the thumb. For playing, however, complete freedom of movement for both arms is desired. Freedom of movement for the right arm is achieved using this holding strap which, on the one hand, holds the guitar in its position, and, on the other hand, transmits reaction forces coming from the gripping fingers to the chair used by the player. The guitar-holding strap essentially comprises an inflexible band (1) which can be fastened with fastening means (2-7) on the one hand to the guitar and on the other hand to the right rear chair leg of the chair used by the guitar player. The clamping length of the band can be adjusted. <IMAGE>
