<p>A carriage and mast assembly (10) has a mast (12) having a pair (16) of movable, inner uprights, a load lifting carriage (18) having a pair (22) of roller brackets, a pair (24) of lower roller assemblies having rollers (32) supported on sleeve bearings (30) and being connected to the pair (22) of roller brackets and pair (16) of inner uprights, and a pair (26) of upper roller assemblies having rollers (46) supported on anti-friction bearings (48) and being connected to the pair (22) of roller brackets and pair (16) of inner uprights. The carriage roller assemblies solve the problems of drag when lifting the carriage, which causes lifting of the inner uprights and thereby some loss of free-lift movement of the carriage, and load impact which causes premature failure of the lower roller assemblies. These problems are solved by using, on such an assembly for a fork lift track, lower carriage roller assemblies having sleeve bearings and upper carriage roller assemblies having anti-friction bearings. </p> |
