Dual purpose wall and ceiling formwork system - has vertical girder with part between panels as part of form surface

For concreting walls or ceilings use is made of systematised formwork with a rectangular form panel (i). The panel is supported at its two narrow sides, to absorb normal ceiling loading, and at its two longitudinal sides, to absorb concrete pressure occurring in wall formwork. Support in its peripheral areas during wall concreting is provided by a vertical longitudinal girder (2), with a section (61,62) located between two form panels, to serve as part of the form surface. This girder is shaped so as to accommodate the tie bar for the wall formwork in this intermediate area. This enables panels to be used for both wall and ceiling work.
