PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of accurately detecting a rotation angle of a cam shaft, without detecting oil for lubricating a fuel pump and a pump driving cam by preventing a rotation angle detection sensor.SOLUTION: An engine 1 is equipped with a fuel pump 41 which is attached to a cylinder head 11 through a fuel pump attaching bracket 42, and driven by a pump driving cam 13B; and a cam angle sensor 62 which is attached to the cylinder head 11 and detects a rotation angle of a sensing rotor 61. The cylinder head 11 rotatably supports an intake cam shaft 13, and has a left side wall portion 33 which divides the cylinder head 11 into a cam chamber 63 storing the pump driving cam 13B and a detection chamber 64 storing the sensing rotor 61 and the cam angle sensor 62.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
