PURPOSE:To form a good image even under high humidity with an electrophotographic sensitive body by incorporating a polyvinyl acetal resin containing ions as impurities in a specified amount less as the binder resin of an electric charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by successively laminating on a conductive supporting body the charge generating layer using as the binder resin the polyvinyl acetal resin contg. <=5ppm ionic impurity, such as polyvinyl formal, polyvinyl butyral, polyvinyl isobutyral, or polyvinyl butyral partially substituted by formyl, acetoacetyl, or propionyl groups for butyryl groups, and a charge transfer layer, and a concentration of ions as impurities, such as ions of halogen, alkali metals, or alkaline earth metals, is reduced to <=5ppm by hot rinsing, dialysis, or the like method, thus permitting a sharp image to be obtained with good reproducibility even under high humidity. |
