WASHING APPARATUS FOR FILTER PRESS

When cleaning of the press or filter cloths is required the spray pipe is mechanically raised to a vertical position between the plate and then traverses the plates. The spray pipe supply line is sectionalised to allow it to bend during the raising and traversing steps. Alternatively drive mechanisms for these functions may be provided from a conventional plate transfer drive mechanism. The washing apparatus bending located beneath the press gives a saving in space compared to existing wash arrangements. The use of cylinders in the mechanism is avoided to give a less complicated system.
