The invention relates to a control device for a thyristor invertor, whose thyristors are driven in a time-shifted manner via a monostable multivibrator. According to the invention, the astable switching duration of the multivibrator is set to be dependent on the input voltage and the output current of the invertor, in that the supply voltage for the RC element of the multivibrator is made dependent on the reference variables.
