PURPOSE:To improve the braking power and the turning performance of a tread provided with main grooves, on a snow covered road, by providing a tread center between the right and left side outermost circumferential main grooves and shoulder portions outside of the outermost main grooves with a number of notches being in parallel to to each other respectively and specific in an inclination respectively. CONSTITUTION:A number of notches 3, being straight and parallel to each other, connected to main grooves at the both ends thereof and also forming an inclination thetac of 45-75 deg. or 135-165 deg. against the circumferential direction of a tire E E', are provided at a tread center T between the outermost groove 1a on one side and the outermost groove 1b on the other side being formed on a tread. Also, a number of the notches 3, being straight and in parallel to each other, connected to the main grooves 1a, 1b at one end thereof, opening at a ground contacting portion, and forming an inclination thetas of 85-95 deg. against the circumferential direction of the tire E E', are provided at the outside of the outermost main grooves 1a, 1b. This constitution can improve both the braking power and the turning performance of the tread, on a snow covered road. |
