<p>Domestic hot water is heated in a storage tank and water for central heating in a second storage tank. The domestic hot water storage tank has an indirect heat exchanger fed from solar panels and a coil fed from the central heating system. The central heating storage tank has an indirect heat exchanger fed from the solar panels. By employing 2,3, and 4 way valves it is possible to provide heating and hot water either totally from solar heating or entirely from the conventional boiler or partly from each. The solar panels can be connected in parallel with one another to feed the central heating storage tank during periods of cloud cover. Automatic operation is achieved by thermostats.</p> |
