<p>The mobile irrigator comprises a chassis accommodating a variable length of hose on a rotary coil to allow for chassis movement in relation to a separate water supply point. The coil is connected to the chassis via a hollow coil shaft, and electric motors coordinate chassis movement and coil rotation. An electric cable is an integral part of the hose, and there are rotary contacts for the cable, acting between the coil and the chassis. The cable can be run inside the hose, passing into it via a sealed joint formed by a gland packing near the connection to the water supply point and out again via another joint at the union between the hose and hollow coil shaft.</p> |
