The distribution box for telecommunication equipment has a compartment (17) at the rear for a set of vertical multiple core cables (4). The sides of the compartment are formed by vertical angles (1) with channels (3) attached to their inside faces, carrying a board (5) with a large number of wiring tags (11) in sets, projecting from it. Down one vertical channel are openings, allowing the cores (8) of cables to pass through and then bend round towards the tags so that their conductors can be wrapped round the tags. A supporting frame (6) for horizontal partitions (7) can be mounted on the board at the rear, sliding over projecting locating pins, and secured by screws. A front cover (16) can be attached to this frame. There is adequate clearance for insertion of a tool (18) for making the connections at the rear.
