<p>Appts. for recovering solvents from the air extracted from dry-cleaning machines, metal cleaning machines, etc. blows the air through a ring circuit back to the machine. The circuit includes a separate unit with a refrigerator-cooled labyrinth which condenses the solvent and drops it together with condensed water into a collector container from which the two media are sepd. by simple standard method. The refrigerator heat exchanger is located at the top of the labyrinth and the extracted air flows through labyrinth and exchanger from the bottom upwards. Since the coldest section of the sepn. unit is at the top, most water is condensed in the relatively warmer bottom section before the vapour condenses at the top. This reduces the risk of blocking by ice and permits use of smaller exchangers and blowers.</p> |
