The throttle valve has a housing with inlet and outlet and a pilot device acting with a force proportional to an input signal on the control plunger of a pilot valve. A further valve plunger in line with the control plunger is supported from the housing by a first spring and from the control plunger by a second one. The second plunger (6) forms a valve working against a seat, its control chamber being connected to the inlet (2) via a throttle (2), and to the outlet (3) via a second throttle regulated by the pilot valve plunger (14).
