<p>Lime is prepared for manuring purposes to a consistency where it is free-running and suitable for spreading by passing it over a special screen to remove the dust and fine particles as well as the oversize particles.The screen has wedge-shaped openings, achieved by laying steel ropes or flap bars on edge into the slots of cross bars with a serrated top at different pitch. This prevents clogging of the spreader openings by fine lime which attracts most of the moisture. It also eliminates lumps which have a lower fertilising efficiency.</p> |
