Jump measuring device for fitness testing - uses timing device connected to floor plate and to contact on patient's foot as measure of height

The method of testing the agility of a person, e.g. a patient, uses a baseplate (3) on which the patient stands, forming a contact contact, and a second contact (4) attached to the patient's foot. The two contacts are connected by cables (2,7) to a timing device (1) which is not in operation when the two contacts are connected. When the patient jumps, the two contacts are separated and the timing device is in operation, giving the length of time the patient is in the air, as an indication of the height of the jump. In another system a third contact is held in the patient's head and is held against a conductive plate mounted on the wall when the patient is at the highest point.
